Flights of Fancy, Johnathan Ball's latest solo show opened June 24th 2017 at Liss Gallery Toronto. The show was greeted with an overwhelming attendance. Opening night included a live installation with model and performer Laura Desiree and live music by Waves that Stray. Flights of Fancy will be on display until July 8th. The body of work represents a return to form for JBall, diverting from his previous body of work dealing with popular science fiction. Flights of Fancy examines the relationships between the individual and nature. It explores natural forms merging them with humanistic forms to create unique compelling paintings. With love from New York, Northern Lights was a huge success. A huge hug and positive love vibes to Ivy Brown Gallery for hosting us. Thanks again to The Bailey House for being a part of the opening it's wonderful to be involved with such a beautiful cause. Fellow artist Sim Posen, and of course none of this would be possible without the care and support of Liss Gallery thanks for making the magic happen. Chelsea we love you, thanks for welcoming us with open arms, until next time.
ICON, opened at Liss gallery on Saturday the 23rd. It was my 4th solo show, my first sci-fi themed show, and my first plum/burgundy suit. It was a wonderful event attended by close friends, gallery patrons, and collectors.
Being an artist is trying at times, it can be a lonely isolating endeavor. Hours of work and torment are often met with contempt and indifference. On very rare occasions however artists are treated to reactions deserving of their merit, Icon was one of these occasions. I am so grateful to be surrounded by great friends who love what I do. Thanks to everyone who came out to the opening and thanks to LIss Gallery for hosting it! Ballevardier's for all.
Manhattan was truly a magical trip, the Architectural Digest show welcomed us with open arms. Prints were sold, pieces were commissioned, and connections were made. I may have over used my selfy stick, yes I have a selfy stick. Special thanks to Darren, Brian, Sim and everyone at Liss Gallery who made this trip awesome!!

Great news to all fans and lovers of the JBall. I am not dead, my site has not been updated in a few months mainly because the booze and ladies of the night have been taking up the vast majority of my time. I have exercised my Jedi like will power and am back. The date for the new show is almost set, May is the month. Dates soon to come. Below is a work in progress for the new show.

I had the honour of having some of my photographs exhibited in toronto's Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival. It is up from May 1 - 31, and is included with general admission to the castle. I highly recommend it.
In February I had the wonderful opportunity to do some live painting, on a very unique surface. Lacoste's Toronto office asked me to do some live painting at their annual footlocker managers meeting and fashion show. I painted 6 crocodile heads live, to show diversity and creativity that is representative of the companies core values, and of course my own. The event was well attended and everyone had a blast. It's always fun to paint random new things like Crocodile heads! Thanks so much for having me there.
39 Seconds of art in motion. Enjoy.
